| Great article in the Seattle times!
Today the Seattle Times posted a front page article on Dale Chihuly’s exhibitions in other cities. Take a moment to go to the article, comment, and let leaders know that the people of Seattle want this project too. Don’t forget some of the project’s public benefits - which include partnerships with Seattle Public Schools, Pilchuck Glass School, Pratt Fine Arts Center and ArtsFund and the creation of a FREE Art Playground.
Chihuly exhibit in Tennessee has been a big draw — would a similar Seattle Center exhibit do as well?
Welcome!
The Space Needle and Chihuly Studio are working together to bring a unique art experience to the Seattle Center, the Chihuly exhibition. Our proposed project is a comprehensive exhibition of the art of Dale Chihuly, funded and operated by the Space Needle. Key to the exhibition is the opportunity to also showcase arts education and encourage artistic exploration. To do so, our project engages Seattle Public Schools, Pilchuck Glass School, Pratt Fine Arts Center and ArtsFund as key community partners in programming. This project will also assist in the specific missions of these organizations and support their efforts on behalf of artists and students.
Our goal is to provide a unique new experience at Seattle Center that will beautify the existing site , increase the number of visitors to the campus each year , and engage the public in art , all while adhering to the principles of the Seattle Center Century 21 Master Plan.
We sought advice from community leaders and art groups, listened to comments from our neighbors, and reflected on the public discussion. To address this feedback, our project will include the following:
- Funds for the development of Green/Open Space
- Creation of a Free Art Playground on the Seattle Center campus for kids and families
- Inclusion and support of art groups and artists
- Establishing Community Partner relationships for educational programming and to support local arts organizations
Thank you for your continued support!
Public Benefits:
- Educational and innovative programming for visitors of all ages
- No public funds will be used

- Aligns with Century 21 Master Plan guidelines by:
